BYU Cougars are in the hunt for 2027 defensive end Adan Diggs, a five-star prospect who could anchor the Cougars’ defensive line for years.
The Cougars open the 2026 season against the Utah Tech Trailblazers on September 6, giving new coordinator Jeff Grimes a chance to showcase his rebuilt defense.
Adan Diggs is a 6-5, 245-pound defensive end from Pflugerville, Texas, rated among the nation’s top edge rushers in the 2027 class.
He holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Texas, but BYU has emerged as a serious contender after strong in-home visits.
A commitment from Diggs would give BYU a game-changing pass rusher to replace departing end Tyler Allgeier.
Grimes’ defense needs disruptive edge play, and Diggs fits the Cougars’ need for length and athleticism off the edge.
BYU’s 2027 class currently ranks 33rd nationally, per 247Sports, with three commitments so far.
The Cougars still need two more defensive linemen to round out the 2027 haul, and Diggs tops the wish list.
BYU opens the 2026 season at home against Utah Tech on September 6, a prime chance to show off Grimes’ rebuilt defense.
Diggs is scheduled to take official visits in the coming months, with BYU expected to host him before the fall semester starts.
